Boards and Commissions
The role of city boards and commissions
Several City Council-appointed boards, committees, and commissions serve the City of Maple Grove. These citizen commissions advise the City Council on a variety of issues. Meetings of the various boards and commissions are open to the public and can be found on the calendar.
Interested residents may fill out the application for board or commission. Applications received will be kept on file and reviewed for consideration as vacancies occur.

Arbor Committee
The Arbor Committee is an 11-member citizen advisory committee, which focuses on the beautification of the city through tree planting and the preservation of the natural environment and urban forest.

Citizens Advisory Committee
At its December 20, 2021, meeting, the Maple Grove City Council formally approved a resolution to dissolve the Citizens Advisory Committee.

Lake Quality Commission
The Lake Quality Commission monitors activities on and near the water.

Parks & Recreation Board
The Parks and Recreation Board is responsible for the acquisition, development and maintenance of all city parks and trails.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission helps implement city plans by making recommendations to the City Council on long-range planning issues such as land use and transportation, as well as current issues regarding such matters as subdivisions, site plans, conditional use permits, variances, and others that are planning and zoning related.

Transit Commission
This eight-member commission provides user input into the operation and planning of the Maple Grove Transit System.
