Project overview
The City of Maple Grove and Hennepin County are improving County Highway 101/Troy Lane from 73rd Avenue to 83rd Avenue as follows:
- Between 73rd Avenue and 78th Avenue: Widen pavement to accommodate turn lanes, curb, and trails along both sides.
- From 78th Avenue to 83rd Avenue: Replace existing paved surface.
The city received bids in July 2022 that were significantly above the estimated cost. The City Council rejected those bids. Staff reviewed to determine if a reduced work scope would still deliver the same project at a reduced cost. Staff re-bid the project in January, and a contract was awarded to New Look Contracting, Inc. on February 21, 2023.
Full closure of County Highway 101/Troy Lane is necessary in work areas. Project managers will post detours and provide access to homes and businesses.
