The Maple Grove Arbor Committee invites you to the Fall Tree Festival from September 26 to October 11. Enjoy the festival on your own schedule at your own pace in a socially distant manner.
This first ever event includes three fun aspects for you to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and celebrate the natural environment that is abundant in our community:
Maple Grove Arboretum parade of trees
Come explore the arboretum located at 9400 Fernbrook Lane. Tour a selection of trees hand picked by the Arbor Committee for their unique features and overall beauty. Visit the Angel of Hope along the way, and finish your tree tour by enjoying the waterfall at the north end of the arboretum.
View/print the parade of trees map. Printed copies will be available in the arboretum parking lots as well.
The scavenger hunt will take you to eight different notable public places throughout Maple Grove. Visit as many places as you wish.
View photos of the designated trees and their locations here and begin your search. As in the photos provided, take a matching picture of the tree shown in the red square and try to capture the city sign as well. (You are also encouraged to be in the photo!) Post your pictures to the Fall Tree Festival Facebook page for a chance to win one of eight $25 local nursery/greenhouse gift cards. If you complete the scavenger hunt, you could also win a hand made cutting board in addition to a gift card. Prize winners will be notified via Facebook after the festival concludes on October 11.
Forest Preservation Area
If you're looking for something to do that's a little more off the beaten path, the Arbor Committee invites you to visit the Forest Preservation Area located along Vicksburg Lane about a 1/2 mile south of Bass Lake Road. This public area contains over 130 acres of mature forest with trails throughout (unpaved). Look for the park sign and gravel parking lot on the west side of the road.
