City of Maple Grove emergency management falls under the purview of the Maple Grove Fire Department. Fire Chief Tim Bush has been monitoring the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) closely to communications, messaging, and actions by local, county, state and federal agencies to maintain situational awareness during this health emergency.

The City of Maple Grove Minnesota is 1 of 14 cities who are members of the North Suburban Emergency Management Planning Group. Together, they created and maintain an emergency operations plan to address natural disasters of all kinds, including community health emergencies.

As recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, practicing simple things can slow the spread of coronavirus and protect individuals. This includes normal cold and flu precautions:
- Frequent hand washing.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or use your elbow. (Immediately throw away used tissues in a trash receptacle.)
- Avoid touching your face.
- Stay home when you are sick.
Social distancing is also an important way to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
