The Park and Recreation Department is working with an engineering firm to create a site grading plan that will allow for effective drainage and support any future park improvements. City staff is currently exploring options for site layout and amenities, which will restore the park to a functioning neighborhood gathering and recreation place. Further details will be released to neighborhood residents when a concept plan has been approved by the Maple Grove Park and Recreation Board in the coming months. Weaver Lake Boat Launch
On Thursday, July 9th, Parks Maintenance Staff made necessary improvements to the boat ramp. Rock was added to both sides of the ramp and in between the slats on the ramp itself to promote a smoother transition for watercraft.
The repaving project at the Weaver Lake boat launch parking lot began on Wednesday, July 15th. Contractors reclaimed the existing asphalt and will be adding fill material to allow for the addition of 10 carry-on access parking stalls. The parking lot and launch will remain open during the reclamation process but will be CLOSED July 29th, 30th, and 31st when the paving crew is on site installing the new asphalt base and wear courses. The City of Maple Grove will provide signage and update this project page if there are paving or weather delays.
