Highway 610 Project

Highway 610 is a vital east-west link for the expanding northern suburbs and northwest Hennepin County. Over several years, the Highway 610 project has been constructed from Highway 10 in Coon Rapids to Interstate 94 in Maple Grove. However, the connection to I-94 is incomplete, as is the extension farther west to ultimately connect with County Highway 30. In fact, it is one of the only remaining A-Minor Arterial Expander roadways in the Metropolitan Council's planned highway system that remains unfinished. Please see the Highway 610: Completing the Final Connections brochure for a layout of the proposed segments and additional project information.

The future Highway 610 extension and the additional connections to I-94 are vital for Maple Grove's expanding Northwest Area. Our Northwest-610 master Planning Study reflects the general alignment of the future highway as it plans for development in the area. You may provide comments regarding the need for the highway or on any component of the plan.

The City remains committed to this extension, and has begun to secure funding through the Metropolitan Council's Regional Solicitation (Federal Highway Trust Fund). These funds are slated to be available as early as 2022. However, these initial funds must be supported by additional sources, including our partners at Hennepin County and MnDOT, to fully fund the final completion of the project.

If you have any questions about this project, please contact the City of Maple Grove Engineering Department at (763) 494-6350 or send an email.  You may also elect to register for our eSubscribe service to receive e-mail notifications as project information is updated.  Please be sure to check the box for TH 610 Project Information.
