Due to COVID-19 concerns, the University of Minnesota announced that all students on all campuses will be taught virtually through at least Wednesday, April 1.
Maple Grove Transit will continue to operate the full Route 789 service through at least March 25. It is possible that following this date, the Route 789 could go to the reduced service plan of only offering AM trip #2 and PM trip #2. It is also possible the service could be fully suspended until the U of M resumes a normal operating schedule.
Currently Route 789 provides two weekday express trips to the U of M from the Maple Grove Transit Station and two return trips.
During the time of reduced/no service, you can use other Maple Grove Transit routes to travel to Minneapolis and then transfer to Metro Transit routes serving the U of M, which include bus Route 3 or the “METRO Green Line” train. For details on these service options, call Metro Transit at 612-373-3333.
The UPass, GoTo Cards, Metro Pass, and cash are accepted as fare payments for Route 789.
If you have any questions, please contact the Maple Grove Transit Administrator at 763-494-6005.
